THE CHARGES UNDER WHICH THE NIGERIAN POLICE IS DETAINING TEENAGER GIRL DESTINY AMUCHECHUKWU AND OTHERS IN PORT HARCOURT:
(1) Conspired to protest and singing war song and saying that “Hausa is not part of Biafra.” Those are the reasons they locked up these poor people, particularly this teenage girl. So saying that “Hausa is not part of Biafra” is now a crime? And this poor girl and others has been in detention since November of last year. The police lawyer, DSP Paul Idenyenmin, is hopelessly mischievous. He wrote they were singing that “Hausa was not part of Biafra.’ He carefully avoided writing that Yoruba was not part of Biafra, for obvious reasons of course. He is a conscious Yoruba man setting the Hausas against the Igbos. Wickedness!
